We all know that taking care of our environment is a must. Coronet’s corporate philosophy is all about green. Doing good for the environment and doing good for humanity go hand in hand. This is the mission we are passionate about and made it our driving force.
In the past years, the focus around sustainable fashion has continued to grow and Coronet made pledges to sustainability, accelerated material innovation and began to explore new ecofriendly paths.
Creating a sustainable earth for future generations gives us hope of a cleaner and brighter future. In recent years we have been working on a few causes that we, at Coronet, have made our own:
the development of innovative environmental technologies
the promotion of renewable energy sources and the efficient use of resources
the adoption of best technologies and practices based on the creations of environmentally-focused materials
As consumers grow savvier, we could not fail to improve our offer for sustainable materials to delight them. We have been working behind the scenes for months to boost the sustainability credentials of our package and have definitely kicked things up a notch by unveiling Yatay™.
Yatay™ focuses on the material’s social and environmental impacts and incorporates a responsible approach to innovation: a wide range of materials studied to make green, sustainable and ethical end products.
Yatay™ with its multiple application fields (from footwear to leathergoods, from automotive to upholstery, etc) is changing the game of innovative solutions, elixirs that can help to re-craft a fairer and more sustainable fashion industry that still maintains its reputation for beauty , creativity and quality. Yatay™ is in fact founded on the idea that quality materials make quality products.
Efficient.
Sustainable.
Eco-friendly.
This line includes all solvent free articles composed of selected raw materials, the entire supply chain is VOC free and carried out through a self-patented process using certified FSC or RCS backings.
In the wake of shifting consumer demands we have made technological advancements and concentrated our efforts on completely solvent free bio-materials. Due to a unique and patented manufacturing process, Yatay™ Z products can be manufactured entirely without solvents. Through the production of useful, high-quality products, zero free plant based PUs not only benefit the environment and the economy, but also the lives of those who use them: a true win-win situation.
This line includes all bio-based articles made from advanced second-generation bio polyols using certified FSC or GRS backings. The transition from the 1st generation bio-based products to 2nd ones has recently become a policy objective. It is the consequence of increased concern about potential issues including, for example, potentially accelerated deforestation, biodiversity loss or worsening of water shortage.
We have taken all of this into consideration and the articles that fall into this family are made with recycled PES from plastic bottles and biopolyols from non-food and GMO-free corn crops. These articles are USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) certified having a bio percentage higher than 25% by weight and some of them exceed 80% of organic content. This is, of course, something we are very proud of.
This line ncludes all articles from pre- and post-consumer recycled GRS certified raw materials to achieve the best performance.
Pre- and post-consumer recycled content products are a heck of a lot better than zero-recycled content products, this is a fact! Recycled polyester, for example, gives a second life to a material that is not biodegradable and would otherwise end up in landfill or the ocean. Sources say that 8 million metric tons of plastic enter the ocean every year on top of the estimated 150 million metric tons that currently circulate in marine environments. If we keep this pace by 2050 there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish. Taking plastic waste and turning it into a useful material is very important for humans and our environment.
This line includes all water-based materials made with noble aliphatic PUs on GRS certified polyester backings.
Our journey towards a more sustainable future propels us to develop waterborne technologies designed to reduce impacts of everyday products.
Waterbased PUs are good quality alternatives help maintaining our green philosophy. Chemicals used in dyes and processing are polluting rivers and harming ecosystems and people’s health. We are done with this! The materials included in this range are technically versatile, have a very soft hand and an excellent wearing resistance not to mention breathability properties. All of them designed to contribute to sustainable development goals.
GRS certifies that the recycled polyester of the fabric originates from post-consumer recoveries and recognises the importance of recycling for the growth of a sustainable production and consumption model, to encourage the reduction of resource consumption and increase the quality of recycled products.
Certifies that the whole range complies with the WVG (European Vegan Standard) and does not contain ingredients of animal origin.
GRS certifies that the recycled polyester of the fabric originates from post-consumer recoveries and recognises the importance of recycling for the growth of a sustainable production and consumption model, to encourage the reduction of resource consumption and increase the quality of recycled products.
